Fall Bible Study

Fall Bible Study

Our Fall Bible Study on the Book of Psalms will begin on September 11th and run for six consecutive Wednesday evenings, concluding on October 16th. The classes, which will be held in the Board Room, will begin promptly at 7:00 PM and finish no later than 8:30 PM.

There will not be a book to purchase for this study. Steve Wasko will send out a list of the psalms before the first meeting on September 11th. The psalms will be categorized in six genres: Praise Psalms, Lament Psalms, Thanksgiving Psalms, Kingship and Covenant Psalms, Songs of Trust and Wisdom Psalms. Each week, the  group will discuss a different genre of psalms, beginning with Praise Psalms on September 11th.

The psalms were considered to be the ancient hymnal of God’s people. We will hopefully discover how praying the psalms can help us be more honest with God and draw us closer to God. If you are interested in joining us, please contact Steve Wasko at (203) 997-2213 or steve.j.wasko@gmail.com. You can also text him at the same number. Please include your name and email address so you can be included in group emails. Blessings.

Main Street Festival Bake Sale

The Women’s Service League will hold a Bake Sale at the Stratford Day Festival on Main Street, on Saturday, June 1. We need all the bakers we can find to help us bake. Baked items that sell well are cookies, brownies, muffins, breads and cakes without frosting (the frostings melt in the heat). This is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year. It ultimately benefits our church by helping to fund our building improvement projects.

You can drop off the baked goods on Friday, May 31 at the church. A member of the Women’s Service League will be at the Church Street entrance to Lower Packard Hall from 2 PM until 6 PM to accept your donations. We will also be in front of the church at 9 AM Saturday morning setting up for the bake sale. If it is more convenient, you can drop them off then. Thank you for your help!
